Minimising your pores is not as easy as skin care products claim, especially since many of them are not really effective. For some people, no matter how much they exfoliate and take care of their skin, the pores just seem to stay massive.

Sometimes skin care products, even the expensive ones, have ingredients that the skin does not agree with. Try these natural ways to make the pores smaller.

1. Facial Steamer

You might wonder how a product designed to open the pores help make them smaller. The secret is that using the facial steamer allows you to clean any oil and dirt stuck there so that the pores shrink afterward.

2. Ice

This is a well-known secret to make pimples smaller, but it also works with the pores. In fact, ice tightens the skin so that the pores shrink as well. All you need to do is to rub the ice on the skin for 10 to 20 seconds. If you find this too cold, you can opt for rinsing with cold water mornings and evenings.

3. Baking Soda

You can create your own baking soda exfoliator by mixing 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of warm water. You can use the paste to massage onto the face for half a minute. Rinse the face after, doing this process daily for a week before reducing it to just 3 to 5 times weekly. However, this is not for people with sensitive skin.

4. Healthy Eating

Your food might be making your pores huge, especially if you are eating tons of fats and oils. Instead, eat more fruits and vegetables as well as omega-3 fatty acids and whole grains. Reduce caffeine and sugar as well.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

This helps take care of acne and helps minimise pores. Instead of your usual toner, you can opt for this instead. Try to dilute the vinegar with some water before applying it to the face. Leave for a few minutes before rinsing it off.

6. Cucumber Juice

Another natural toner is cucumber juice, which has astringent properties that shrink pores. Put cucumber in a blender and pour through a strainer to end up with the juice. Use a cotton ball to apply on the face before rinsing it off.

7. Egg Whites And Lemon Juice

Create a natural mask using these ingredients. The egg white will tighten the skin and extract any oils from the pores while the lemon will lighten up any marks on the face.

8. Sugar and Lemon

You do not need any fancy product to minimise your pores, as even table sugar and one lemon can do the trick. All you need is juice from half of a lemon and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Mix and apply onto the skin, massaging it for 10 to 20 seconds. Wash it off and repeat one more time every week.

At times, pores are huge because of the dirt and oils that have built up inside. This is why one of the most common steps to minimise them is to thoroughly clean the skin. After doing so, you will see your pores disappear slowly but surely.
